Muse of the Month: Emma Coleman
This month we’re featuring Emma Coleman, a content creator, business owner and long-time friend of the brand. Based in Freshwater, Emma is always on the go, balancing multiple roles while building a brand of her own, all with a signature stack of gold that pulls every look together.

What’s your favourite Alana Maria piece and why?
Everyone will probably know how obsessed I am with the Kochyli necklace. I wear it all the time and I always get messages about it, so it’s definitely become one of my signature pieces. It’s such a statement but still feels effortless, and I love how it instantly elevates even the simplest looks.
What’s a piece of jewellery you can’t live without?
Definitely my Tessa hoop earrings. I wear them every single day and feel a bit naked without them. They’re so timeless and instantly make any outfit feel more polished, whether I’m dressed up or just in something really casual.
What are your everyday jewellery staples?
I’ve actually just started wearing delicate necklaces and I love how effortless and timeless they feel. I usually keep it simple with a dainty necklace and a pair of hoop earrings because they go with everything and instantly make me feel more put together. At the moment I love the Prim Freshwater Pearl Necklace for an everyday piece because it’s so delicate and easy to layer.

Can you share a special memory tied to a piece of jewellery?
One of my favourite memories was taking my mum to the Alana Maria warehouse sale. We ended up finding a pair of earrings we both loved and bought matching ones. It was such a special, wholesome day and now every time I wear them it reminds me of that moment and of her.
What’s your profession and how does it impact the fashion industry?
I have three jobs. I work in content creation, real estate, and I run my own reversible clothing brand, Descenda Blue.
Content creation, especially while travelling, is what really led me to start my brand. I was always travelling with a really small backpack and constantly wishing I had more outfit options, but I just couldn’t fit enough in. That’s where the idea for reversible pieces came from. I wanted clothing that could give you more looks without taking up more space.
At the same time, in real estate I’m dressed up in heels and corporate outfits most days, and I genuinely love that polished side of fashion. I think having both worlds makes it so much more fun.
What’s a good piece of advice you’ve received recently?
My favourite advice ever is “The universe rewards audacity.” It’s a reminder that you can’t wait for perfect conditions. Opportunities tend to come when you show up, take the risk, and back yourself instead of playing it safe.
What advice would you give to someone starting in your industry?
Start before you feel ready. Whether it’s content, business, or launching a product, you learn more by doing than by overplanning.

Equal parts practical and personal, Emma’s approach to jewellery is a reflection of how she moves through life, busy, intentional and always building something.
