Introducing our May Muse of the Month: Diya
By day, she’s a Social Media Manager, by night, a content creator. This month’s muse, Diya, embodies confidence, creativity, and ambition. We chatted with her about travel, personal style, and building a career. Here’s what she had to say:
What does a typical day in your work life look like?
Every day is different but a typical day is a mix of creative planning, meetings, shoots and editing.
What advice would you give to someone starting in your industry?
My advice would be to find experience! I started working in the industry by being a little intern and slowly progressed into a full time role. There are so many amazing companies that you can start as an intern and you can learn so much from everyone around you.
What’s your dream travel destination, and what jewellery would you pack?
Mallorca is at the top of my travel wishlist, and the Ilios collection would be coming with me for sure. I absolutely adore all the pearls and the shells.
It would definitely match perfectly for all my summer looks and make every outfit feel a little more special.
What’s your favourite Alana Maria piece and why?
My favourite Alana Maria piece is the Florence bracelet. It was one of the first pieces I’ve ever owned by Alana Maria and I wear it almost every day.
What’s a piece of jewellery you can’t live without?
Definitely bracelets! I love stacking them up and covering my wrists with as much jewellery as possible. It feels so feminine and instantly elevates any outfit.
How has your personal style evolved over the years?
Around 5 or so years ago, I wasn’t very confident and struggled to express myself. One of the first steps I took to build my confidence was starting with my wardrobe. As I learned how to style myself, I fell in love with fashion and the creative process of putting together looks that felt fun and different. Over time, as my style evolved, so did my confidence. Discovering how much power there is in expressing yourself through fashion has made me love styling myself more and more every day.
