Frequently Asked Questions

“What is ‘Gold Filled’?”
Gold filled is not the same as solid gold. It is a fraction of the cost of solid gold and is made by bonding solid gold to a base metal to give it the appearance of gold. The process involves a high amount of heat and pressure and the resultant gold filled piece is typically more durable and of better quality than a gold plated piece.

“My chain is knotted - what should I do?”
It’s useful to use two small pins or needles to carefully and slowly detangle the knot. Avoid pulling too hard on the chain as this may result in stretching and possible breakage. However, if you are unable to untangle the knot, please feel free to bring in your jewellery to our Freshwater store and we will help you. If you are unable to come to our store, please get in touch with us and we can discuss with you the process of sending the piece back to us.
"What is the best way to store my jewellery?"
We recommend storing your pieces individually in our complimentary fabric pouches to ensure your pieces don't become scratched, tangled or tarnished. Our boxed packaging is made using a glue that can cause a chemical reaction with your jewellery meaning your pieces can discolour over time. These boxes are designed for packaging and gifting purposes only.
